It been crazy the last couple of weeks. Even Matthew keeps saying "Are we really in Houston, Texas?" I have to keep telling him,"Yes, Sweetheart we are really in Houston, Texas." I still can't believe it. I will have tell you how bad it was when we got here next time I post, but for now I would like to tell you about my first Halloween in Texas. I never thought it was going to be so hard to get pumpkins to carve. Being in the Pacific Northwest all of my life we have tons of pumpkin farms and we so many choices for pumpkins. I love and miss going to Carven's Farms this year. The pumpkins are very different here. Maybe because it too hot here? I'm not sure, why. Most people here carve their pumpkins the night before or the day of Halloween. I'm thinking they are right...I will need to remember that for next year. I finally ended up getting pumpkins at Home Depot. Yes, I even went to Walmart...which for me it a big deal. Where we live we are not near any good Grocery Stores.. so yes, I am starting to buy things at Walmart (Houston has 10 of them). My husband still thinks they're evil but they are the only place close to us that sells everything. The closest Target is 30 minutes away and it is more in the slum part of town. Well to get back to the pumpkins...Here are the boys carving the "Weird Pumpkins" as they called them:

We carved these for the Trunk or Treat Party at the church last Friday night. They are now all rotten on the front porch and it been colder here then it normally is this time of year they say.
On Sunday my sister, Teri Jo came over to help Karl carve another pumpkin using all her cool carving tools. She more use to the pumpkins here...I can't believe that she been here 4 years. Here are some pictures :
Kjell with his Hotel Transylvania (Vampire) pumpkin and Karl with his Skyrim/Oblivion pumpkin.
Erik wanted to be a Knight again this year so we found him this costume:
As for Kjell he keeps changing his mind...A Pirate, Darth Vader, Ninja or Captain Rex. We will wait and see tonight what he finally decides.
