Erik's Golden Birthday

Today is Erik's Golden Birthday. It is 7th of January and he is turning 7 years old.

It is amazing to me to look through my pictures and see how he has changed through the years.

I am so lucky to have him. His sweet personality, the way he makes me laugh, the joy he has put in our lives and the love he shares with us all.

Erik, I love you so much! Have a great birthday!

Christmas Day

It been really different this year with having to fight with the bad weather. We didn't do the usual things we do for Christmas.. no pictures with Santa, no driving around to look at all the Christmas lights, not being able to get all of our Christmas shopping done and a lot other things that I can think of for some reason...I guess they aren't has important as I thought they were. I still waiting for the clothes from Old Navy. I ordered clothes around the 12th of December for Christmas pictures that have been re-routed so many times from UPS. I think I will be lucky to get by the first of the year. So here is the picture for this Christmas 2008...in their new pajamas.

The boys were excited about want they got for Christmas. That is all that matters. Karl got is "Whimsy" Dragon, that he really wanted for long time. Erik got the Wii games he wanted. Kjell loves the toys he got ...I'm hoping some of batteries run out soon. :)

Santa Claus brings them a orange in their stocking...I think Kjell claimed all of boys for himself. I had a hard time getting it from him to peel it.

We had a quite dinner here on Christmas Day, which was real nice. We started with veggie and dip...Kjell had more dip then veggie, he wanted to dip everything from crackers to veggie, he ate over half the dip. A ham for the boys, a roast for Matthew and I, rolls and sprinkling cider... not glamours but tasted wonderful. My Mom brought us cookie dough for the boys to make. They are chocolate cookie that they roll the dough into ball then roll them again in powder sugar. They had blast making them and they tasted so good. It turned out so be great day after all. I hope that you had a wonderful holiday too. Have a happy New Year!

Moore Snow

I can't believe how much snow we got...it snowed for the last two days. Today we finally got rain , but it is not helping the road ways at all. It is real hard to get out of the driveway. The day before Christmas Eve, the boys and their cousins played in the snow. Jason (Matthew's Brother) and his kids were in town, Veronica, Gerrit, and Jeanene. Also Lauren and Kathryn came over to play with kids. 8 kids in one household for more then 2 days can be handful, but they had fun and everyone is still in tact. Here are some of the pictures of them playing in the snow.

Lauren, Karl and Jeanene making snow angels:

They buried Veronica in the snow and went snow diving. Burrr it was cold outside!

Veronica tasting the icilies. Jeanene has wedge her way down so that feet touch the grass.

Karl and Erik working on the bottom circle for their snow man. Erik is making the head. Lauren is making the center of the snowman.

This is my favorite one. Lauren, Karl and Erik with their finished snowman.

Snow

These pictures are from last week when it snow real bad. We don't have any snow clothing ...we rarely see snow, unless we go up in the mountains. I ordered mittens , hats and coats, but with the weather so bad , the package has not arrived from UPS. They probably will show up after the snow it melted. We had 12.5" inches snow by the morning and it was still snowing when they when out to play in it.

Vacation and Moore

Sorry it has been so long...I have wanted to put my pictures from our vacation up so everyone could see how much fun we had. We took Karl and Erik to school like any other day and I went home to pack up the truck for our surprise family vacation. We made it to Grant Pass the first night around 10pm, which the boys were upset that the pool was closed, but I knew they would crash when we stepped into our hotel room...and they did. The next day we were off running at 8am to head to the next destiation. We were going to visit our friends the Moore's...Yes, they do have the same last name ,but we are not related to them. The live in Pas Robles, California. Doug is dentist and we were desperate need to see a dentist, because our insurnace doesn't kick in until January 2009. Karl had 5 teeth pulled out, one of them had spacer that couldn't naturally fall out and new teeth were trying to push out but couldn't. Thank you, Doug for doing that. I know that Karl thanks you too :) He did lose the last one that wasn't pulled sometime last week.

We had a blast with the Moores. Doug and Joddy took us out to this wonderful Seafood place called the Cracker Crab, It was sooooo good, I have never tasted anything better then that. The kids got to play in the pool at Doug's Parents House and also ride the zip line...Here are some of the pictures and to answer your question...Matthew did not go down in his Kilt...he only flashed Joddy a couple of times. We had great time visiting them.

We headed to our next destination...Disneyland. The kids still didn't know where we were going. We arrived pretty late on Saturday at Disneyland. We stayed at the Tropicana which is across the street from the Disneyland entrance, which was so much cheaper the Disneyland Hotels and still close to Disneyland. We couldn't of planned it any better. I don't think that we can get a way with a surprise of taking them to Disneyland. I think both Karl and Erik know if we are visiting Doug...Disneyland must be in order. We had a lot of fun. Kjell was homesick after the first couple of days...we would of left him with Grandpa Moore ,but Matthew can't go anywhere without all of kids. Which I think he has change is mind a little bit after being with the kids for 10 days. I think that we thought is we had 6 days at Disneyland, that we were not going to be worned out, but no we just plan more things to do. I think both of us like the 3 days hopper now that we try a longer one. We need a vacation from our vacation. Don't get me wrong we had blast and I wouldn't change the memories we had together. Here are the pictures:
